Matt Oleskow, Sr. originally founded Mattson/Witt Precision Products under the name Matt-Son in 1957
when he developed a plastic valve in his basement shop in Chicago. Since then, it has become a leading
force in the water treatment industry. With products like the first plastic brine valve, riser tubes, and hub
and lateral distributor systems for steel tanks, Matt-Son nurtured a reputation among manufacturers and
assemblers as the company to go to for plastic component solutions.
In June 2005, Jeff Witt purchased the assets of the company from
Alamo Water Refiners, Inc. and renamed it Mattson/Witt Precision
Products, Inc. Today, the office and plant facility, centrally located in
Barrington, IL, includes the latest in high-tech plastics machining
equipment. Mattson/Witt can economically produce high quality;
custom runs in quantities of 1 to 10,000 pieces, whether it is
producing a custom designed tank head or a one-of-a-kind widget.
Jeff Witt, Mattson/Witt president, says the new company name draws
on the significant equity of its origins as Matt-Son, Inc. “We wanted the
name of the company to acknowledge our long and proud history while
signaling the progress that we plan to make in the future. While
focusing on our core competency of machining and assembling
standard and custom plastic parts, we will look for opportunities to
expand our capabilities beyond the water industry where our expertise
in plastics gives us an advantage over other machining operations.”
